Visual Presentation emphasizes
the importance of Photography On February 24, 2015, we welcomed Mr. Fatica into our Photojournalism class. Mr. Fatica is a Visual Arts Lecturer at the University of Texas at Brownsville. During his presentation he rendered photographic examples of his line of work. Mr. Fatica mentioned that his interest in photojournalism began while he was in high school. He was part of the Yearbook staff and he immediately found out that he absolutely enjoyed photography. Then, when he enrolled in college he began working at the University of Ohio--as their photographer. He was present at every football game and photographed other sporting events as well. Basically, he was called upon to cover any event happening around campus. Upon graduating with a degree in photojournalism, he opened his own photography business. Mr. Fatica has photographed many celebrities such as the Jonas Brothers and Nelly just to name a few. He has obtained jobs doing photo shoots at weddings, grand openings of stores, restaurants and clubs in the thriving city of Key West and the touristic city of Miami Beach. At UT-B he teaches his students the basics of photography and graphic design. In addition to this he shows them how to use Photoshop Illustrator to create their own posters, magazine covers and business ads for online use. Graduating students interested in taking any of his courses can do so by registering online at www.utb.edu. If you are interested in hiring Mr. Fatica to photograph an upcoming birthday celebration or even a modeling portfolio--check out his website at: www.faticaphoto.com.
